H.E President Paul Biya
President of the Republic of Cameroon
Paul Biya, born on 13 February 1933 in Mvomeka’a, is Cameroon’s second Head of State, assuming office on 6 November 1982 after President Ahmadou Ahidjo’s resignation. He has an extensive educational background, with studies in Paris and various academic qualifications, including a Licence en Droit Public and several diplomas in political and public law.
H.E President Paul Biya has held numerous government positions, including Minister of State and Prime Minister, before becoming President. He introduced multiparty politics in 1990, leading to the legalization of over 200 political parties. Biya authored “Communal Liberalism,” advocating economic liberalism, national solidarity, and modernization.
